Nick plates up Sardine toon

Nickelodeon has acquired international rights to a slapstick comedy produced by Montreal’s Sardine Productions and distributed by GoldBee in Spain.

ToonMarty will air on Teletoon in Canada from May

Nickelodeon will air ToonMarty (40×11′) on its international channels and catch-up service around the world, excluding North America, China and Japan.

The series was originally commissioned by Corus Entertainment in Canada for its Teletoon French- and English-language networks and will premiere on both in May this year.

Set in a town where all cartoons live, the series follows the town’s only employee as he goes on adventures with the inhabitants.

The property has been supported by The Bell Fund, The Canadian Media Fund and The Shaw Rocket Fund in Canada.
