Broadcasters across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) have acquired a range of live-action and animated Nickelodeon series, while the Nick App has been launched outside of the US for the first time.

In Ukraine, free-to-air channel NLO TV has picked up season one of scripted live-action series The Greenhouse, plus seasons one and two of live-action show Supah Ninjas and The Troop, from Viacom International Media Networks.

Elsewhere, satellite broadcaster Viasat has acquired season two of TUFF Puppy in Latvia; season one of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and season two of Kung Fu Panda in both Latvia and Estonia; and season one of Legend of Korra in Lithuania.

The content will air on FTA channels and also secondary cable channels in the Baltic region.

In Lithuania, LNK has ramped up its Nickelodeon movie offering, signing Best Player, Big Time Rush Movie, Merry Christmas Drake & Josh, Rags, The American Mall and The Boy Who Cried Werewolf.

In related news, Nick will broaden its search to unearth new writing talent outside the US for the first time in 2014.

Dubbed the Nickelodeon Writing Programme, the campaign will launch globally in January and is designed to attract writers spanning all international markets, cultures and backgrounds.

The successful applicant will eventually be given a salaried position at Nickelodeon’s international headquarters in London for six months.

Finally, the Nick App, already downloaded five million times in the US since February  this year, has received its first international launch in the UK, via the Apple App Store.

The app includes shortform videos, behind-the-scenes clips and comedy sketches, with new content added every day.
