NHK, EBS mine ZDF factual library

Size Matters looks at the science of scale

Broadcasters around the world have acquired factual and children’s programming from the commercial arm of German pubcaster ZDF.

Among the buyers to acquire content from ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE) were Japan’s NHK, which took documentary science two-parter Size Matters, and EBS Korea, which bought 4K natural history show Big Pacific.

Meanwhile, Hungarian Telekom has acquired a package of programming consisting of around 140 hours of animation and live-action for its SVoD services Videotéka and TVGO Movieclub.

Three seasons of Dance Academy and animated titles Coconut, The Little Dragon and Lassie were included in the package.

The sales came as ZDFE bade farewell to its long-serving CEO Alexander Coridass at Mipcom this week.
