NextUp added to Amazon Channels

Comedy-focused UK streamer NextUp has agreed a distribution deal with Amazon as part of the fledgling Amazon Channels service.

NextUp joins channels such as Discovery, Eurosport Player and ITV Hub on Amazon Channels, which launched in May.

Amazon Channels allows Prime Video members to add channels individually for a monthly subscription, without the need to sign up for a bundle or enter into a contract. NextUp will cost £3.50 (US$4.60) per month.

Since launching in November 2016, NextUp has filmed 40 original stand-up comedy shows and releases a new special every week. Comedians featured on the service include Richard Herring, Simon Munnery, Danielle Ward and Sean Hughes.

The firm completed its latest funding round in August, securing investment from multi-sector venture capital firm Velocity.
