IMG looks to Hollywood Sports media company IMG has hired one of the former ITV executives who helped the company set up in France and Spain to oversee its production activities. John Hollywood, a former ITV director of business development who left the UK broadcaster amid a reshuffle last May, has been named director of production for IMG Sports Media. Hollywood has held a variety of roles at ITV, including director of production and commercial director. He also worked on flagship shows including I’m A Celebrity, Hell’s Kitchen and Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. He will report into IMG Sports Media Production MD Graham Fry and replaces Jackie Myburgh, who has left the company to join BBC Sports. The appointment comes as sister division IMG Media announced sales for a range of sports, action and adventure series to Extreme Sports Channel. Titles include Dr Danger and Pro Bull Riding, two factual entertainment shows. The first will roll out later this year to all of Extreme Sports Channel’s 25.8 million subscribers across the EMEA region. Pro Bull Riding will broadcast on the channel’s dedicated UK, French and Polish feeds. 10 Mar 2010 © C21 Media 2010 |
