FremantleMedia promotes French CEO

FremantleMedia has promoted Monica Galer, the CEO of its French division, to the newly created role of head of Northern and Southern Europe.

Galer (left) will now oversee six of FremantleMedia's production territories: Belgium, France, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. The respective territory heads will report directly to her.

As a consequence of this promotion, she will relinquish her positions as MD of Blue Circle in the Netherlands and CEO of FremantleMedia France, though she will continue to manage these businesses directly until FremantleMedia announces her successors.

As part of the company's ongoing reorganisation, it is seeking out a CEO for its business in Spain, with the objective of consolidating it under a single leader.

"The purpose of this overall restructure is to provide specific focus on these key production markets," said Simon Spalding, FremantleMedia's regional CEO for Europe and Asia-Pacific. "The market in Europe has become increasingly competitive and it is now even more important that we bring our best management talent to bear on the tasks in front of us."

Galer joined FremantleMedia in April 2002 having worked for Endemol and RTL, among others.
