Geller goes on Cannes bender MIP NEWS: Mentalist Uri Geller (below) is in town to spoon some sugar on the roll-out of Israeli format shop Kuperman Production's The Successor, which is being rolled out internationally this market. ![]() Now Kuperman is aiming to take it to the international market with versions available with or without Geller at the helm of the judging panel. "We did find a Israeli successor – Lior Sochard," Elad Kuperman told C21. "He is a showman who knows how to magnetize the audience. Now the search is on internationally." C21 understands the winners from each domestic version, should the production fly, will be gathered to compete for the world mentalist title in a global event special. The studio-based competition sees nine hopefuls compete live in a variety of mind-bending, acts to prove to Geller they have what it takes to be named his successor. Each week the contestants are challenged to demonstrate their inexplicable abilities on celebrity guests and the studio audience. From mind control effects such as making the celebrities imagine different flavours in their mouths on command, to Russian-roulette style stunts.
