UK debut for Move with Channel Bee US internet TV company Move Networks, which counts ABC, The CW and Fox among its clients, has picked up its first customer in the UK with the launch of 19 Entertainment-backed Channel Bee this week. Move earlier this year raised US$46m in third-round funding, with contributions coming from Comcast Interactive Media, Televisa and Disney-affiliated Steamboat Ventures. The company is now stepping up its focus on the international market and has claimed its first client in the form of Channel Bee, an internet TV station set up by British TV personality Tim Lovejoy with support from Simon Fuller's 19 Entertainment. Channel Bee went live on Monday, offering original comedy sketches, celebrity interviews, reality television programmes and live music, with Move providing the capabilities to power 10 live concerts in HD. "When we decided early on that we didn't want our viewers to experience buffering as they watched our high-definition live music gigs, we found that only Move Networks possessed the expertise, experience and technology to make that happen," said Lovejoy. The 10 sell-out concerts will be filmed live at London's Somerset House, starting today, with Channel Bee broadcasting performances from artists including The Fratellis, Duffy and The Feeling.
