UPC puts Sling Media to the test NEWS BRIEF: Californian 'place-shifting' TV firm Sling Media has partnered with Liberty Global-owned UPC Broadband to supply its technology to the latter's digital TV customers in the Netherlands. The deal see the Slingbox, which takes a household's TV signal and retransmits it to internet-connected devices, bundled together with the standard UPD digital TV package. The arrangement between Sling and UPC is, however, only a trial and not a full-blown agreement, like the one the company signed with Scandinavian broadcast giant Viasat last year for a white-label version of the product. 11 Sep 2007 © C21 Media 2007
