Internet TV firm Revision3 raises US$8m US internet TV network Revision3 has raised US$8m in second round funding led by Greylock Partners, a venture capital firm whose other investments include Facebook, Digg and LinkedIn. The company said it would use the funding to expand its mix of hip, geek and pop culture-oriented internet TV programming, which is targeted at the 18- to 34-year-old demographic. Revision3 claims over two million downloads a month for original internet TV shows such as Diggnation, The Totally Rad Show and iFanboy. Many of these shows are entirely advertiser-funded with presenters discussing products from the likes of Sony, Netflix, Microsoft, Verizon and Adobe. The company was set up by the founders of online content-sharing tool Digg. As part of the latest tranche of financing Jay Adelson and Kevin Rose have been joined on the Revision3 board by Greylock Partners' David Sze and James Slavet. "There's a revolution happening in television and we're committed to continuing to lead the charge," said Adelson, who is Revision3 chairman and CEO. "The success of the network speaks to the fact that there's a very large and growing audience that wants the next generation of content."
