NonStop sells Voom HD to Estonia Swedish pay TV player NonStop Television, which operates entertainment channel Star! and movie channels Showtime and Silver, has launched high-definition net Voom HD in Estonia. The carriage deal, struck with Estonian telecoms and IT provider Elion, will make Rainbow Media's Voom HD channel available on NonStop's IPTV platform a month after it launched in Scandinavia on Canal Digital. NonStop claimed the new deal makes it the first operator to offer HDTV content in the Baltic region. In addition to the Baltics and Scandinavia, Millennium Media Group-owned NonStop also has distribution rights to the nature, travel, culture and sports channel in Iceland."Elion is going to be the first high-definition TV provider in Estonia. We are very glad that we are launching HDTV in conjunction with Voom, whose TV channels are really attractive and high-quality," said Margus Kurm, Elion's product and services director. The channel will be available on the Elion cable TV network in February and on the Elion IPTV platform later in 2007. This month also saw the launch of NonStop channel Star! on the Elion IPTV platform. Antony Reeve-Crook 8 Dec 2006 © C21 Media 2006 C21 Home | FutureMedia Home | Printer Friendly | Email a Friend |
