Nickelodeon, Cartoon Net order pilots Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network have greenlit pilots with writing and directing talent attached from High School Musical and Ugly Betty. Nickelodeon has commissioned Summer Camp, a half-hour from Peter Barsocchini, writer of Disney's High School Musical movies. E1 Entertainment and Reveille are coproducing the single-camera pilot, set at a children's sleep-away camp, with veteran director Lev L Spiro (Ugly Betty, Weeds, The OC) onboard. Production of the pilot is slated to begin in Malibu this month, according to US reports. Over at rival Cartoon Network, Chris Elliot (The Terminator, The Fugitive) has been tapped as the lead in Eagleheart, a live-action comedy for the network's late-night strand Adult Swim, while Nate Corddry has signed as lead voice on the net's upcoming Horrorbots. Eagleheart, from Conan O'Brien's Conaco Productions and Dakota Pictures, centres on a low-level television executive sent to Texas to produce the action series Eagleheart. Horrorbots revolves around Thrasher (Corddry) and Blastus, two outsider teenage droids who are only slightly less horrific than the ultra-powerful robots who populate their planet, Killglobe.
