iTunes offers final Lost in France, Germany Disney EMEA has linked up with Apple's iTunes Store to sell subtitled episodes of the final season of Lost to viewers in France and Germany shortly after their first US transmission. The first episode of season six, which premiered stateside last night, is available from today on iTunes France and iTunes Germany. Future episodes will be made available 24 to 48 hours after US transmission, and each will be available in a download-to-own window of four weeks. In the UK, where the show premieres this Friday (February 5), new episodes will be available to buy through iTunes the morning after their debut on premium channel Sky1. The show is being offered as part of Disney's Hot From The US strategy, which aims to accelerate the delivery of content to viewers in non-English-speaking territories and reduce the appeal of illegal downloading. Maria Kyriacou, Disney EMEA's senior VP for new media distribution, said: "By providing viewers with access to our highly coveted content via the best possible legitimate services, Disney offers a far more appealing proposition than any illegal offerings. By working with iTunes, fans in France and Germany can enjoy the final season of Lost as early and conveniently as possible." Lost is produced by ABC Studios and airs in the US on ABC.
