Cartoon Net signs top talent for live-action Cartoon Network has enlisted talent from dramas Lost and Breaking Bad to lead its first foray into live-action series. Tower Prep is about a rebellious teen (Drew Van Acker) who winds up at a mysterious prep school. He and a group of friends set out to uncover the school's secrets and escape. Paul Dini (Lost) exec produces and wrote the pilot, which was directed by Terry McDonough (Breaking Bad). Cartoon Network Studios will produce the show in Burbank along with Dolphin Entertainment.Unnatural History revolves around a teen (Kevin G Schmidt) who moves to Washington DC and, with his cousin, encounters mysteries at the National Museum of Natural History. Warner Horizon TV is the studio attached. Mike Werb (Face/Off) created and wrote the pilot, which was helmed by Mikael Salomon (Band of Brothers). Production begins on both series in January. Cartoon Network has been branching out of animation for some time, into live-action TV movies, but this is the first time it has tried its hand at live-action series.
