Bravo loses controller David Clarke, controller of Virgin Media Television (VMTV)-owned Bravo, has left the UK cablenet after 12 years "to pursue other opportunities," and is not being replaced. Clarke declined to comment when contacted by C21, but in a statement, VMTV director of television Claudia Rosencrantz said: "We wish Dave all the best in his future endeavours." Clarke's responsibilities will now be handled by Daniela Neumann, director of programmes for Bravo, Challenge and Virgin1. The departure follows that of Lucy Pilkington, VMTV senior commissioning editor for Bravo and Virgin1, last week, who also left "to pursue other projects," having been with the network for six years. A spokeswoman for VMTV told C21 the departures were a coincidence and denied that any sort of restructuring was taking place at the network. During his tenure at Bravo, Clarke acquired and commissioned many of the channel's key programme brands, including Danny Dyer's Deadliest Men, Dog The Bounty Hunter, Sons of Anarchy and Deadliest Warrior.Adam Benzine 22 Oct 2009 © C21 Media 2009
