Norway gets a load of Voom HD Norwegian cable TV provider Get has completed a carriage deal to add US-based Voom HD Networks' Voom HD channel to its high-definition digital channel line-up. The agreement, which will see Voom HD launching in Norway this month, will build on the channel's growing reach throughout Scandinavia, and continues Get's aggressive incorporation of high-definition TV.The partnership was conducted through NonStop Television, which has distributed Voom HD throughout the Nordic and Baltic regions since October 2006. Voom HD has carriage deals with Lithuania's Alpha Komunikacijos, Penki Kontinentai and Splius, as well as Estonia's EST. Glenn Oakley, senior VP of global operations and business development for Voom HD Networks, said: "While we certainly had an idea of which regions would respond to and embrace high-definition television most vigorously, it is truly fulfilling to both witness and be a part of such growth. "Norway is among the leaders of this charge, and we're pleased that Voom HD and NonStop Television will help Get launch its new HD package." NonStop Television CEO Ignas Scheynius added: "We strongly believe that HD is the future format of today's television, so we have specialised in finding high-quality HD channels like Voom HD." Voom HD is currently available in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Estonia and Latvia. Adam Benzine 10 Mar 2008 © C21 Media 2008 |
