DRG inks deals for Emmy winners London-based distributor Digital Rights Group (DRG) has sealed a host of deals for two high-profile BBC dramas, which last night picked up honours at the International Emmy Awards. Ben Whishaw, who was awarded the International Emmy for Best Actor, stars in BBC1's psychological thriller Criminal Justice (5x60'). Distributed under DRG's Portman Film & Television banner, the drama has been picked up by VRT (Belgium), ABC (Australia), EIC (Benelux), ETB (Spain), BFS Entertainment (North America), Showtime Networks (Australia) and BBC Worldwide (Africa & Poland). The deals add to a range of acquisitions already secured with broadcasters including NOS (Netherlands), DBS (Israel), YLE (Finland) and NRK (Norway). Elsewhere, British actor Julie Walters was awarded the Best Actress honour for her role in the BBC-produced A Short Stay in Switzerland. The 90-minute drama tells the true story of Dr Anne Turner, whose assisted suicide in a Zurich clinic made headlines throughout the world. Portman has secured deals with VRT (Belgium), TV Ontario (Canada), TVNZ (New Zealand), Pramer SCA (Latin America), TV Norge (Norway), YLE (Finland), MNET (Africa), UKTV (Australia), DBS (Israel), SVT (Sweden), Globosat (Brazil) and RTV (Slovenia).
