ABC sets out on Crash Course US network ABC has commissioned local indie A. Smith & Co to produce a pilot for a new automotive obstacle course series that is being prepped as a companion piece for the second season of Wipeout. Crash Course will be a light-hearted competition in which couples will work together to navigate roads that have been set up with hazards, such as felled trees and falling rocks. As well as the action sequences, it will feature segments that follow the couples preparing their strategy for the challenges ahead. The pilot for Crash Course will be shot this weekend. It is executive produced by Arthur Smith, who produced the US version of Hell’s Kitchen and Kent Weed, the team behind I Survived a Japanese Game Show, which, like Wipeout, is due back on ABC's schedule this summer.
