Yo Gabba, CBBC take home Baftas Yo Gabba Gabba, the copro between The Magic Store, Wildbrain and RDF Kids, won the international category at the children's Baftas last night, while CBBC bagged Channel of the Year. The animated series, which aired on Nick Junior, beat Nickelodeon's iCarly, Disney's Phineas & Ferb and Nick/BBC's Lazytown for the prize.CBBC beat its sibling CBeebies and Nickelodeon and Nick Junior for the channel award. Tiger Aspect's Charlie and Lola won two Baftas for animation and preschool animation, while indie Ragdoll scooped two prizes for pre-school live-action and Independent Production Company of the Year. Bow Street Runner, the innovative historical game produced by Littleloud that aired on Channel 4, won a Bafta in the interactive category. The Revenge Files of Alistair Fury, Little Brother Productions' show for CBBC, won a Bafta in the drama category, while CBBC Scotland's Hedz picked up the entertainment gong. In factual, CBBC's Serious Andes picked up the prize, while Pixar's Wall:E won the Bafta for Best Feature Film. Summerhill scribe Alison Hume took home the writer's Bafta for the Tiger Aspect/CBBC show, and My Say, from Wised Up Productions, picked up a gong in the shortform category. Slapstick duo The Chuckle Brothers won the Special Award after more than three decades in entertainment. The star-studded event, at The Hilton in London, was presented by Keith Chegwin and attended by the likes of Dr Who showrunner Russell T Davies, former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, X-Factor judge Danni Minogue and former S Club member Rachel Stevens. 1 Dec 2008 © C21 Media 2008 |
