Telepool makes waves at Mipcom MIPCOM NEWS: German distribution group Telepool has made a raft of sales deals for its series, kids, factual and film catalogues to broadcasters around the globe. In series, Alarm for Cobra 11 proved particularly popular, selling to TF1 in France, Cuatro in Spain, and to networks in Japan, Iran, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Eastern European territories. What Really Matters was picked up by broadcasters in the Czech Republic, Canada and Latvia, while Italy's Mediaset took a further 100 episodes of Red Roses.The brand new third season of Turkish for Beginners, meanwhile, sold to both Canal+ and NRJ12 in France. NRJ12 also picked up Everybody Loves Jimmy, while five seasons of Medicopter 117: Every Life Counts sold to Spanish networks ETB, Telemadrid, TV Canares and Estremadura. The highlight of Telepool's factual deals has been package sales to Russia's Canal Katura and to Teleclub Zurich in Switzerland. Finland's YLE, meanwhile, picked up two documentaries, Love Against All Odds and The Red Cross and the Third Reich, while Lost Children sold to PBS in the US and a broadcaster in Iran. Family programming deals include the sale of Franky Snow into Israel and Bob's Beach into Russia, while TV movies and events from Telepool's slate have sold to the likes of Italy's Rai, SBS in Australia, Japanese channel group AT Entertainment, Czech TV and Arte in France. "The successful start of Mipcom gives rise to optimism, due to which we are confident that our team will close many more successful deals," said Irina Ignatiew, Telepool's executive VP of international.
