Kressley covers up for Lifetime talkshow Female-skewing US cablenet Lifetime has ordered two new series and a talkshow pilot hosted by How to Look Good Naked's Carson Kressley. The untitled pilot will feature Kressley interviewing celebrities as well as offering insights into fashion and other pop-cultural topics. Ray Giuliani, producer of syndicated talkshow The Greg Behrendt Show, will executive produce the pilot, which will be filmed in September. Lifetime has also greenlit a reality series following Kim Porter, ex-partner of Sean 'Diddy' Combs and mother to three of his children, as she adjusts to new life as a single mother in Los Angeles. Actor Blair Underwood will produce the series via his Intrepid prodco, alongside Eye Candy Productions. The second new series order is for factual entertainment show Mom's Cooking, in which daughters surprise their mothers by cooking their favourite dishes. Boy Wonder Productions has signed on to produce. Meanwhile, Lifetime has ordered a third season of its original drama Army Wives, from ABC Studios and the Mark Gordon Company. "Since premiering last year, Army Wives has become a game-changer for Lifetime," said Lifetime Networks' president and CEO, Andrea Wong. "Announcing this early renewal is testament to the enormous faith and confidence we have in this show and its incredibly talented cast and production team." The show's first two seasons have set performance records on the cablenet, and it has risen to the position of number one series among women 18-49 and 25-54 on all ad-supported basic cable channels. The 18-episode third season is due to debut next year. Emily Brookes 14 Jul 2008 © C21 Media 2008 |
