Bruckheimer reversions UK sci-fi format Hollywood über-producer Jerry Bruckheimer (CSI) will re-version UK sci-fi miniseries Eleventh Hour for US terrestrial network CBS, and has signed a British actor to star. The original 4x71' series, produced by Granada International, aired on ITV1 in January and February 2006. It starred Patrick Stewart as a special science advisor to the UK government who, along with his feisty female bodyguard, troubleshoots the worst and most dangerous abuses of science. London-born Rufus Sewell (The Illusionist) will play that role in the CBS version, which will be set in the US. CSI executive producer Danny Cannon will direct the US pilot, penned by feature writer-director Mick Davis (The Flying Dutchman). It will be a coproduction between Jerry Bruckheimer TV, Granada International and Warner Bros TV. Emily Brookes 22 Feb 2008 © C21 Media 2008 |
