Mouse in on-demand double MIPCOM: Disney has struck its first ever subscription VoD movie deal, with Singapore's quad-play operator Singtel, and in a separate move has signed its first Russian digital media agreement, with Sistema VoD. The Singtel agreement will see Disney-ABC International Television (Asia Pacific) launch SVoD movie service The Film Factory on Singtel's digital pay-TV service Mio TV from this month.Film Factory subscribers will get on-demand access to over 100 library films spanning Walt Disney Pictures, Pixar, Touchstone Pictures and Miramax Films. Titles include blockbusters such as Pearl Harbor, Armageddon, Enemy of the State, The English Patient and Pretty Woman. The service costs SG$12.84 (US$8.72) a month, which gives subscribers access to a selection of 15 to 28 movies, allowing them to watch the movies whenever they want, as many times as they want throughout the month. Disney blockbusters such Ratatouille and Wild Hogs are already available for individual VoD rental on mio TV. Meanwhile, Disney-ABC International Television EMEA has closed its first digital media agreement in Russia. The deal, sealed with VoD service Sistema, gives Russian subscribers access to a wide selection of current and library features from Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures and Miramax Films (among them Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Wild Hogs, Cold Mountain and Kill Bill: Volume 1).
