Freaks given thumbs up US cable channel Comedy Central has flashed the green light for seven episodes of half-hour animated comedy series Freak Show.  Premiering on the network in late 2006 or early 2007, the show features a group of freak show performers (left) who are also second-rate superheroes.  The concept is based on an idea by David Cross (Arrested Development) and H Jon Benjamin (Dr Katz Professional Therapist) and follows the misadventures of the Freak Squad, a group secretly employed by the US government.
