Ragdoll sells Boobah into China MIPCOM NEWS: Teletubbies producer Ragdoll has landed a Chinese deal for its follow-up production Boobah, with Gangzhou Beauty Culture Communication picking up distribution rights inside the People's Republic. Gangzhou Beauty Culture has acquired broadcast and home video rights to all 104 episodes of the GMTV/CiTV commission, and is currently negotiating broadcast deals with national and regional partners, to launch the show during the Chinese New Year in February 2005. In the meantime, Ragdoll is exploring toy distribution and publishing opportunities to tie-in with the broadcast launch. "Gangzhou Beauty Culture's experience and expertise in the Chinese marketplace affords us every confidence that the introduction of Boohbah into China will be a success," said Nick Kirkpatrick, head of international sales at Ragdoll. He did the deal with the Chinese firm's ceo Li-Yen. 4 Oct 2004 © C21 Media 2004 |
