New Shed prodco scores BBC pilots

Warner Bros-owned Shed Media has launched entertainment and comedy prodco Yalli, which has already scored a duo of pilots with UK pubcaster the BBC.

The Paul O’Grady Show showrunner Bert Gray heads up the prodco as creative director, and will focus on developing new formats and tapping Warner Bros’s formats library to create UK versions.

Yalli has already scored its first commissions and will produce local pilots of US format Impractical Jokers, which broadcasts on TruTV; and The Ginge, the Geordie and the Geek, a sketch show from comedy troupe comprising Graeme Rooney, Paul Charlton, Kevin O’Loughlin and John Hoggarth.

Hidden camera series Impractical Jokers features four comics who set each other up in a series of awkward and potentially mortifying challenges. It launched on TruTV in December produced by North South Productions. Warner Bros International Television sells the format internationally.

Yalli is the first new prodco Shed has launched since fact ents division Watershed TV in 2010. Warner Bros acquired Shed in a £99.9m (US$154m) deal later that year.
