New original shows from Nick UK

In the UK, Nickelodeon is moving into production on July 18 on its new pre-school series You Do Too (26×25′) which will air on Nick Jr.

You Do Too is co-hosted by Wendy Turner and the puppets, Stamper (a kangaroo) and Frankie (the mouse). It is a live action make-and-do show that encourages kids to join in with the activities unspooling on screen.

{At the moment, moment the plan is to launch the series in the autumn on Nick Jr,{ said Joe Godwin, who helms the in-house production. He added that the show is {a 100% home grown pre-school show{ that fulfils the channel's philosophy of {play, laugh and learn.{

The children’s network will also ink a commission for a further 12×30′ episodes of n-list, a pop music show fronted by Kelly Bryan from the girl band Eternal, alongside Smash Hits’ Donna Armstrong and Dave Berry.

n-list revolves around children choosing their favourite music videos on the Nickelodeon website, with the most popular ones then appearing in the show, along with kids’ opinion on the music scene, their favourite stars and gossip.

Meanwhile The Wild Thornberrys, the feature film based on Nickelodeon’s highest-rated primetime show for kids 2-11 in the US, has gone into production.

The animated feature, a Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies presentation, is currently in production at Klasky Csupo.

Penned by Kate Boutilier, The Wild Thornberrys is directed by Jeff McGrath and Cathy Malkasian, with Albie Hecht, Julia Pistor, Hal Waite and Eryk Casemiro serving as executive producers.

Voice talent attached includes Rupert Everett (An Ideal Husband), Marisa Tomei (What Women Want), Lynn Redgrave and Brendan Blethyn (Saving Grace), as well as Lacey Chabert and Tim Curry from the TV series.

The feature film sees Eliza Thornberry question her ability to talk with animals after an accident on the Serengeti Plains in Africa, after which she is shuffled off to boarding school in England.

The television series was created by Arlene Klasky and Gabor Csupo (who will produce the feature), in tandem with Steve Pepoon, David Silverman and Stephen Sustaric.
