New distributor signs CEE deals

A fledgling global distribution company focusing on family entertainment and animation has sold 500 episodes of animated content to broadcasters in Eastern Europe and CIS.

Nickelodeon in Russia has acquired Robodz (15×11′) from London-based Media IM, which is headed by former Viacom International Media Networks sales executives Maria Ufland and Irina Nazarenko.

The comedy toon, about the everyday lives of a gang of robots living on Mars, will begin airing on Nick in Russia, across the CIS and in Baltic territories next month.

Elsewhere, The Pooches (52×4’30”), a Russian CGI animation about a family of dogs, will launch on M2 in Hungary this year, while the pubcaster has also acquired Russian sci-fi toon Pin-Code (51×13′) from Media IM, which launched in 2014.

Finally, Serbian pay TV broadcaster Ultra TV has licensed Kikoriki New Adventures (52×11′), Pin-Code and The Pooches for Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Macedonia.
