Nets check into Ramsay’s Hotel Hell

Broadcasters in Europe, Asia and Africa have booked into Hotel Hell, the new reality series fronted by chef Gordon Ramsay.

Hotel Hell, which is due to air on US network Fox in August, sees Ramsay try to reverse the ailing fortunes of hotels across America.

It is produced by Ramsay’s UK prodco, One Potato Two Potato, a joint venture with All3Media’s Optomen Television.

Distribution arm Optomen International has now sold the series into more than 110 territories. Broadcasters include BBC Worldwide’s channels in Asia and Africa; Discovery in Russia, the CIS and Italy; W9 in France; TVNZ in New Zealand; and TV2 in Denmark.

TV2 in Norway, Kanal Fem in Sweden, VTM in Belgium and Poland’s TVN will also air the show.

Hotel Hell will be Ramsay’s fourth title on Fox, following Masterchef, Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares.

The chef said: “These are stories that everyone can relate to because virtually all of us have had a bad hotel experience that’s turned a holiday or business trip into a total disaster. It’s time to put the American hospitality industry to the test.”

Hotel Hell was commissioned in September last year.

Optomen Television has recently teamed up with Simon Cowell’s Syco TV for a new daytime cooking series, Food Glorious Food, which will hunt for the UK’s favourite recipe.
