Netflix uncovers Bloodline

Netflix will roll out Bloodline, its new original drama from the creators of legal thriller Damages, across its SVoD service in all territories early next year.

The show is being produced by Sony Pictures Television and explores how the lives of four family members change when another sibling returns to their hometown.

The 13-parter, set in the Florida Keys, stars Kyle Chandler and Sissy Spacek and has been created by Todd Kessler, Glenn Kessler and Daniel Zelman. All three will also exec produce, with the show set to be made available from March next year.

It’s been a busy week for the US video-streamer, which recently teamed up with former Marvel Studios boss Avi Arad for an animated film and series based on the tale of giant ape King Kong.

Yesterday, it added to its animation slate by ordering a half-hour comedy series from stand-up comedian Bill Burr and earlier in the week the SVoD service ordered its first original series from Canada.

It also linked up with Wolf of Wall Street star and environmental campaigner Leonardo DiCaprio for the release of Virunga, a feature-length documentary about African gorilla preservation.
