The US SVoD service has ordered eight episodes of the series, which ran on US cablenet Bravo for five seasons from 2003.

International versions of the show, which follows the makeover of a straight man by five gay men, were also spawned in Australia, Sweden and Chile.

David Collins and Michael Williams, creators and executive producers of Queer Eye, will helm the project along with executive producing partners Michael Williams and Rob Eric. Scout Productions will make the show in association with ITV Entertainment.

In related news, Netflix has picked up the worldwide rights to Russian doping documentary Icarus.

The film, which made its world premiere in Sundance’s US Documentary Competition, focuses on anti-doping doctor Grigory Rodchenkov, who reveals details of Russia’s state-sponsored Olympic doping programme that took place ahead of the 2016 Summer Games.

Bryan Fogel directed the doc, which he co-wrote with Mark Monroe.

This week Netflix said it would continue its push into unscripted with 30 commissions in 2017.
