Netflix renews college football doc

Last Chance U

Netflix has commissioned a second season of its sports docuseries that offers a behind-the-scenes look at the world of US college football.

The new episodes of Last Chance U will focus on the latest recruits to East Mississippi Community College and track their attempts to make it as elite athletes.

Greg Whiteley will continue as director of the show, which marked the US streaming service’s first sports documentary series.

Last Chance U is produced by Netflix in association with Condé Nast Entertainment, Endgame Entertainment and One Potato Productions.

It’s the latest project on Netflix’s slate of original documentaries and docuseries, which also includes Making a Murderer, Chef’s Table, a forthcoming doc about Amanda Knox and Werner Herzog’s Into the Inferno.
