Netflix ready for Rabbids Invasion

VoD services around the world, including the recently launched Netflix in France, have acquired French animated series Rabbids Invasion.

Netflix France, China’s JY Entertainment and Canada’s Videotron will all make the 156×7′ Ubisoft Motion Pictures show available.

The series was produced for France Télévisions and is sold by FranceTV Distribution (FTV). It has been available worldwide on Nickelodeon since 2013 and has also sold to MBC3 in the Middle East, Teletoon in Canada and Neox in Spain, among others.

Season two, which has also been picked up by JY Entertainment, is expected to be available for free-TV viewing from autumn this year.

In related news, Turner Group has become the first buyer of Studio Hari’s show The Owl & Co. (78×7′), also sold by FTV. The show will air on Turner’s children’s channels (Cartoon Network, Boing and Boomerang) in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Meanwhile, Peanuts (104×7′ and 500×1.30′), produced by Normaal Animation, has been sold to DKids for Latin America and MBC 3 for the Middle East.

The animation, acquired for distribution by FTV last year, has also been sold to TVB in Hong Kong, Disney in South Korea, TV TOKYO in Japan, Thai PBS in Thailand, Canal+ in Poland, RTVS in Slovenia, IETV in Israel, SRC in Canada, YLE in Finland, NRK in Norway, NPO in the Netherlands, Smile TV in Greece and Sinema TV in Turkey.
