Netflix preps tween science show

Netflix is to launch a live-action series for tweens from toy company MGA Entertainment, produced in partnership with AwesomenessTV.

Project Mc² follows four smart and science-savvy girls after they are recruited to join a spy organisation committed to saving the world.

The series is based on a doll line with the motto ‘Smart is the New Cool’ from US-based MGA Entertainment. It will premiere on the streaming service next month.

AwesomenessTV, which is owned by DreamWorks Animation and Hearst Corporation, is also producing the forthcoming live-action Richie Rich series for Netflix.
