The Kominsky Method is being written by Lorre and will be a part 10-part show that follows an ageing actor (Douglas) who turns to coaching after enjoying a brief foray with success. Arkin plays his agent and friend.

The show is being produced by Chuck Lorre Productions and Warner Bros TV, with The Big Bang Theory co-creator exec producing alongside Douglas.

Lorre is already producing Disjointed for Netflix, while his slate at US broadcaster CBS includes Big Bang, spin-off Young Sheldon and returning sitcom Mom.

Netflix has also commissioned Best Worst Weekend Ever, a comedy series being produced by US-based MarVista Entertainment.

The eight-episode show follows four friends as they make the most of their last weekend before high school. It was created by Robin Stein and Dan Franklin, with showrunner Jeremy Garelick (The Break-Up) attached.

Finally, the US-based streamer has ordered an untitled supernatural thriller from the UK’s New Pictures, the prodco behind BBC drama The Missing.

The eight-episode series has been created and written by Hania Elkington and Simon Duric and produced by UK-based New Pictures, led by Charlie Pattinson, Elaine Pyke and Willow Grylls.

Farren Blackburn serves as executive producer alongside Pattinson, Pyke and Grylls, and directs six episodes in the series. The show will be produced in the UK and Norway.
