Netflix orders Russell Howard special

Russell Howard shot to fame on Mock the Week

Netflix has commissioned a stand-up special from UK comedian Russell Howard, produced by London-based prodco Avalon.

The special was recorded over two nights at the Brighton Dome over the weekend and will be made available to Netflix subscribers later this year.

The as-yet-untitled Netflix show will be directed by Peter Orton and executive produced by Richard Allen-Turner, Howard, James Taylor and Jon Thoday for Avalon, plus Lisa Nishimura and Robbie Praw for Netflix.

Howard is best known for his BBC3 show Russell Howard’s Good News and his appearances on BBC2’s topical panel TV show Mock the Week.
