Netflix orders Lionsgate talkshow

Global streaming giant Netflix has ordered its second unscripted series from US studio Lionsgate.

Norm Macdonald has a Show will run for 10 episodes and is being produced by comedian Macdonald’s production banner, Anchor Spud Productions, along with Pygmy Wolf Productions in association with Lionsgate Television.

The talker is being hosted by Macdonald and his sidekick Adam Eget, with one celebrity guest joining the duo for each episode. The show will deliver “great and unexpected conversation, jokes and a behind-the-scenes look at Norm’s world,” Lionsgate said.

Macdonald is attached as executive producer and co-showrunner, alongside Lori Jo Hoekstra. Famed talkshow host David Letterman, who has his own Netflix series, serves as location scout.

The order follows the recent launch of Lionsgate’s The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale on Netflix.
