Netflix orders Dear White People series

Campus culture comedy movie Dear White People

Netflix in the US has ordered a TV adaptation of Justin Simien’s 2014 indie feature film comedy Dear White People for 2017.

The 10×30’ series comes from US-based Lionsgate Television and will follow a diverse group of students of colour at a predominantly white Ivy League college.

Simien will write the series and direct the first episode, while Devon Shepard, Stephanie Allain Bray and Julia Lebedev will executive produce.

Production on the service series will begin this year.
