Netflix names Gilmore Girls

Netflix’s revival of popular US comedy-drama series Gilmore Girls has been given an official title.

Gilmore Girls originally ran for seven seasons

The US SVoD service will launch 4×90’ movies called A Year in the Life, replacing the unofficial working title Gilmore Girls: Seasons.

The show, which follows the life of a single mother and her daughter, originally ran for seven seasons and 153 episodes on The WB/CW from 2000 to 2007.

Netflix signed a deal with Warner Bros to reboot the programme last year. The original series is already available on the streamer’s US service.

In 2003, a planned spin-off of the show was canned due to location and financial problems.
