Netflix finds Home for DWA spin-off

Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh

Netflix and DreamWorks Animation (DWA) are prepping an animated series based on the latter’s 2015 feature film Home.

Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh comes as part of the two companies’ output deal for original series, many of which are based on DWA’s feature film franchises.

The first season of the latest spin-off will be available exclusively to Netflix members in the US, Canada, Latin America, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, the Nordics, Benelux and France from July 29.

Described as a “coming-of-age buddy comedy,” the series follows fearless Tip and overenthusiastic Oh as they navigate the crazily combined human and alien culture they live in, finding adventure everywhere they go.

Netflix will launch several other new original series in partnership with DWA in 2016, including a reboot of Voltron and Trollhunters, from Pan’s Labyrinth director Guillermo del Toro.
