Netflix enters The Deep

The Deep is based on Tom Taylor’s graphic novel series

Netflix is set to stream CGI-animated adventure series The Deep in the US.

Based on the graphic novel series from comic book author Tom Taylor, the 26×30′ series follows the adventures of a family of underwater explorers.

The show began airing in the UK on CBBC, the BBC’s children’s channel for six- 12-year-olds, in March. It will roll out on Netflix in the US tomorrow.

The series is a coproduction between rights holder Technicolor, Australia-based A Stark Production and Canada’s DHX Media, which is also handling distribution.

Other broadcast partners for the programme include Australia’s Seven Network and ABC3, Super RTL in Germany, Ketnet in Belgium, NRK in Norway, SVT in Sweden, YLE in Finland and Canada’s Family CHRGD.
