The head of Nelvana Enterprises EMEA has left to join the European arm of Chinese toy and entertainment giant Alpha Group.
Antoine Erligmann has been appointed VP, media, TV and licensing in EMEA after just under a decade working out of Canadian firm Nelvana’s Paris office.
Alpha said the appointment marked another step in the company’s international expansion as it aims to become “a key player” in the European market over the next 10 years.
Erligmann will oversee distribution and licensing for Alpha’s brands, which include Super Wings and Infinity Nado. He will also develop the company’s coproduction and digital strategy.
“This recruitment is an accelerator in the development of our European potential. Antoine will be an important part of Alpha’s global kids IP strategy,” said Ray Wang, chief content officer and president of international Alpha Group.
Alpha’s European presence currently includes subsidiaries in the UK, led by Mark Hyndman, in Northern and Eastern Europe, headed by Patrick Potgiesser, and France, under Didier Carreras.
