Nelvana gains from SVoD boom

Subscription VoD players from around the world have picked up more than 800 episodes of children’s TV from Canadian producer and distributor Nelvana.

In South-east Asia, iflix has picked up series such as Babar, The Berenstain Bears, Franklin and Friends, Max & Ruby, Trucktown and Willa’s Wild Life for its fledgling SVoD service.

Meanwhile, in Chile, pay TV operator VTR has taken VoD rights to series such as The Backyardigans, Hot Wheels: Battle Force 5 and Mike the Knight from the Corus Entertainment-owned company.

Staying in Latin America, VoD aggregator Vubiquity has added shows including Beyblade Metal Fusion, Cyberchase and Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Kids to its library.

Additionally, in the US, distributor and digital channels operator Cinedigm has picked up the rights to provide Babar to viewers.
