NCIS, CSI spin-offs go global

MIPCOM: Broadcasters around the world, including Channel 5 in the UK and M6 in France, have picked up the latest spin-offs in the NCIS and CSI US drama franchises from CBS Studios International.

Channel 5 has secured exclusive free-to-air rights to CSI: Cyber and NCIS: New Orleans.

CSI: Cyber stars Patricia Arquette (Medium) as a cyber-psychologist who uncovers people committing serious crimes online, while NCIS: New Orleans is set in the Big Easy and stars Scott Bakula, Lucas Black and Zoe McLellan.

Both shows are produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television and sold by the broadcaster’s distribution arm, CBS Studios International.

Sony Pictures Television in Latin America has also picked up CSI: Cyber, along with fellow US drama Scorpion, to air on its AXN channel in early 2015.

M6 in France, ProsiebenSat.1 in Germany, Italian public broadcaster Rai, Shaw in Canada, Network Ten in Australia, Fox International Channels in Asia and Prime TV in New Zealand have all taken NCIS: New Orleans.

RTL in Germany, Bell in Canada, Network Ten and Prime TV have picked up CSI: Cyber.
