NBCUniversal International is readying an SVoD service for the UK, Ireland and Australia that will offer on-demand access to an array of reality shows.

Hayu will launch in March across devices, providing access to more than 3,000 episodes of reality content. New episodes will be added weekly, with most debuting at the same time as their US premiere.

The service will be available without contract for £3.99 (US$5.80) a month in the UK, €4.99 (US$5.65) in Ireland and A$5.99 (US$4.20) in Australia.

Shows such as Keeping Up With the Kardashians and its spin-offs will be available, along with The Real Housewives, Million Dollar Listing and Top Chef.

I Am Cait, Made in Chelsea, Flipping Out, Shahs of Sunset, The Millionaire Matchmaker and Don’t Tell the Bride will also feature, in addition to specially made shortform “content snippets” from episodes. Access to social media and entertainment news feeds will also be embedded into the service.

Kevin MacLellan, chairman at NBCUI, said: “We know that reality content is a primary driver of social interaction and that fans of reality TV significantly over-index in online viewing.

“We set out to build a service that elegantly combines the best high-end reality shows with the most popular social media and digital news platforms. Uniquely in Hayu, fans can find it all in one place.”

NBCU becomes the latest to go direct to consumers with its own streaming service, following the likes of Univision, CBS and HBO in the US.
