NBCU channels join UK’s TVPlayer

Chicago Med will be among NBCUniversal programming available on TVPlayer Plus

NBCUniversal International Networks has agreed a carriage deal that will make channels including E! and Syfy available via UK-based TVPlayer’s SVoD service.

The agreement means the package, which also includes Universal Channel and Movies 24, which is being rebranded as Christmas 24 until January 6, will join TVPlayer Plus from today.

TV Player Plus, which costs £5.99 (US$8) per month, will add shows including Chicago Med, Law & Order: SVU, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, The Exorcist and Pitch Black to its line-up.

TVPlayer launched in the UK in 2013 and is a free OTT platform that streams live TV from free-to-air broadcasters across multiple devices.

Its SVoD sibling TVPlayer Plus offers access to channels from operators including UKTV, Discovery Networks, Viacom, A+E Networks UK and National Geographic Channel Europe.
