NBCU bolsters Hispanic business

NBCUniversal has brought Comcast executive Marlene Sanchez Dooner on board to develop its business in the Hispanic marketplace.

Sanchez Dooner will join as executive VP for Hispanic enterprises and content at the end of the year, reporting to the chairman of that division Joe Uva.

In this newly created position, Sanchez Dooner will develop Hispanic initiatives and business opportunities for NBCU’s networks and platforms and oversee financial planning, strategy and business development of Telemundo and mun2.

She has led the investor relations department at NBCU parent Comcast Corporation for the last 18 years, having joined in 1995. During that time Comcast acquired AT&T Broadband and more recently acquired NBCU.

Comcast will start a search for a new head of investor relations in the coming weeks.
