NBC revisits Superstore

Superstore was created by Justin Spitzer

US broadcaster NBC has ordered a fourth season of its comedy Superstore, fronted by Ugly Betty star America Ferrera.

Season three of the show is currently airing on the network and the new commission is for 22 more episodes.

Superstore was created and written by Justin Spitzer, who also serves as an executive producer alongside director Ruben Fleischer, David Bernad, Gabe Miller and Jonathan Green. The show is produced by Universal Television, Spitzer Holding Company and The District.

The series centres on Ferrera’s character Amy and her incompetent colleagues in a store. Seasons two and three also consisted of 22 episodes each, while the first season was 11 episodes long.

The latest commission of Superstore was announced by NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke and co-president of scripted programming Tracey Pakosta.
