NBC returns to Emerald City

US network NBC is reviving Wizard of Oz-themed scripted series Emerald City and has ordered a 10-part run.

Emerald City had initially been ordered in 2014, with Matther Arnold and Josh Friedman writing the show, but it was then canned prior to casting in August.

However, it has now emerged again with David Schulner, who is writing the series following his work on previous NBC shows such as Dracula and Do No Harm.

The series is from Universal Television and will be a modern reworking of the L Frank Baum story, featuring a dog called K9, but with darker overtones.
