The untitled project, from Poehler and Charlie Grandy (The Office), follows a party animal who returns home to his family and finds himself competing with his brother for his place in the world.

The comedy is penned by Grandy, who will exec produce with Poehler, Brooke Posch and Dave Becky. US prodcos 3 Arts, Kite and Universal TV are behind the programme.

The network has also ordered single-camera comedy The Trail from Barge Productions and Good Session Productions in association with Warner Bros Television.

The show, created by writers Jeff Astrof and Matt Mille, follows a big-city lawyer and his defence team during a murder trial in a small US town. Its title is a scrambled version of ‘trial.’

Meanwhile, NBC has given a pilot order to Good Fortune, from writer/exec producers Craig Gerard and Matt Zinman.

The multi-camera comedy, exec produced by Office star Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, follows a woman who begins to make advice from a fortune teller. 20th Century Fox is the studio behind the project.

The news comes a week after NBC ordered two drama pilots – Miranda Rights and Midnight Texas – from sister studio Universal Television.
